Megatainment

It’s pretty well known that in these parts of the great vast interweb we love our good friends The Megas and Entertainment System. After meeting both bands last year during their Megatainment Tour and hearing afterward that both bands decided to get together and work on a Mega Man 1 EP, you could easily say I was very excited for it.

Well the time has finally come, both bands have finally completed their ends of the EP and it’s available for public consumption! The EP is a four song face melting session of Mega Man goodness that is–in my opinion pretty fair priced at $5 if you so choose to buy it via digital download or a additional $3 for shipping of the cd!

I’d like to see our listeners support these two bands as they’ve given me some awesome tunes to play on Critical Music as well as being part of a growing list of video game based bands!

Where have we been?

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve recorded a podcast and I’ve had some questions as to when we’re doing another. Well first off let me say I appologize for the delay in another recording, Kyle has been trying to get with me to record another but I’ve been rather busy as of late and it just hasen’t been a good time for me to record one!

I’m currently in the long process of doing another Critical Music, it’s slowly been in development for the last two weeks and so far it’s shaping up to be a big one. I hope to get the new one out to everyone by this weekend and possibly a new podcast episode by the next weekend if Kyle is avaliable and my situations with work settle down a bit!

Critical Strike NES Tribute part 1

I’ve always been a big fan of what people now consider “retro” games, to me the best times in gaming are the Commodore 64, Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System and so forth.

One thing I think that has sadly been lost on gamers of today is the fun factor in which these games bring out more than anything, at least to me. Today everything seems to be about graphics and big explosions, while back then they couldn’t do that and had to focus on just making something that was fun (or completely horrible, heres looking at you McKids).

So anyway, I figured I’d make a little tribute video showing off some of my favorite games on the NES, I’ll probably continue making these over time since it was a pretty cool project.

I’ve never had to release a video on the feed, lets hope it works! If it doesn’t then you can always watch the video over on YouTube.
