Playgasm Folding@Home Team

May 2nd, 2007 . by Josh

We here at Playgasm would like to announce our very own Folding@Home team. Sure it'll probably be small, or probably just be Keith and myself. But none the less if you would like to join it's simple.

Head over to the Folding@Home site and download the client specific to your systems needs. Once running enter the configuration option, in the team section all you need to do is enter 69616. Once you finish your first work unit you will then appear on the Playgasm folding team. Playstation 3 users can join as well by just downloading the folding client in the network section of the cross media bar.

Now you say, what's the purpose of all this? Well basically in a nutshell, Folding@Home takes your spare CPU cycles and puts them to good use. Those spare cycles will be used to alter a series of proteins through folding, thus hopefully one day finding a cure for several diseases. But, it would probably be better to see the Folding@Home FAQ if you need more information.

Thank you for reading this and learning of the potentials of Folding@Home, and we hope you join us!

Game Releases 3/11 – 3/17

March 11th, 2007 . by Josh

Going into mid March, moving the clocks forward and soon spring will, well spring! But that's one of the best times for gaming, all the summer releases will hit, we'll all be broke, yet strangely happy.

Playstation 2

  • God of War 2

Playstation Portable:

  • Call of Duty 3: Roads to Victory

Playstation 3:

  • College Hoops 2K7

Xbox 360:

  • Call of Duty 3 Gold

PC:

  • Top Spin 2
  • Battlefield 2: Complete Collection

Nintendo Wii:

  • Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07

Nintendo DS:

  • Mind Quiz: Your Brain Coach
  • Herbie Rescue Rally DS

I never said this week would be good, but of course there is God of War 2! Another thing, I decided to try and list only the AAA PC games for releases, there is just too much crap to try and post each week, just not worth it.

Game Releases 3/4 – 3/10

March 4th, 2007 . by Josh

Yay, first week of March is gone and now, Motorstorm is upon us. Besides that I can't see a single game on this list for any system that I would want, but we're getting closer to some of the good games to come out!

Playstation 2:

  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
  • Burnout Dominator
  • Medal of Honor Collection
  • Carol Vorderman's Sudoku

Playstation Portable:

  • Burnout Dominator
  • Carol Vorderman's Sudoku
  • Pimp My Ride

Playstation 3:

  • MotorStorm
  • Def Jam Icon
  • NBA Street Homecourt

Xbox 360:

  • Def Jam Icon
  • Ghost Recon: Advanced War Fighter 2

PC:

  • Titan Quest: Immortal Throne
  • Tortuga Two Treasures
  • Sonic Mega Collection Plus
  • City of Heroes Good Vs. Evil Edition
  • Slingo Quest
  • UFO Extraterrestrials
  • Ghost Recon: Advanced War Fighter 2

DS:

  • Wario: Master of Disguise

  • Rayman Raving Rabbids

Would you look at the amount of crap coming out on the PC? It's a sad day when consoles are consistently getting better games than the PC.

Sony Compilation

March 2nd, 2007 . by Josh

There has been so much Sony news as of late, so I decided to do a small compilation of all that is good, and bad.

So all-in-all it has been a very busy day for Sony. Generally Sony is known for being a press disaster, yet today it seems to be a bit reversed. Of course the Kotaku incident was a mistake on their part, in the end I could see both as being wrong in that situation, but Brian Crecente was right in what he did.

Maybe this is a turn in the right direction for the company, who knows.

But for now, this is enough of the Sony news, lets see some Xbox 360 and Wii press!
