MLB 2k7 Denies Wii

February 9th, 2007 . by Josh

Sorry Wii owners, you shall not be getting Take-Two's baseball game MLB 2k7 this year. But, unlike the other consoles you do have Wii Sports baseball!

The main reason why they won't be releasing the game for the Wii "this year" is because they want to make sure the controls are perfect for the 2008 edition of the game.

Those looking forward for Rockstar's upcoming PSP, PS2 and Wii game are probably interested in seeing the trailer. So just hit the jump and view away!

Manhunt 2 Port-a-thon

February 6th, 2007 . by jb

Manhunt ActionManhunt 2, developed by Rockstar, is on it's way to the PS2, PSP and Wii.  This is just further making the Wii a dumping ground for last-gen game ports, which is good and bad.  While it is great that the Wii is getting more mature titles, it's bad that the Wii is likely not getting a fair shake in terms of proper controls.

If the game being developed didn't have the Wii in mind the whole time, the controls are just an after thought instead of a building block.

I'll consider this one as good news, as I'm all for more M rated games coming to Wii, and all for Rockstar finally coming over.

I can see Miyamoto announcing GTA4 for the Wii now…

Virtua Tennis 3 Online

February 6th, 2007 . by Josh

For those with the Xbox 360 and not the Playstation 3, you'll be pleased to hear the upcoming version of Virtua Tennis 3 will have online play! For those who have a Playstation 3 and not the Xbox 360, you'll be upset to hear, there won't be online play!

And for those with the Wii and not the other two consoles, yeah you obviously know you aren't getting online play.

But nonetheless there will be a variety of online modes such as, doubles, singles and VT: TV where you can watch two of your other friends play (EA take note for Madden). As well all the Xbox 360 users should take note, that the game on the Microsoft made console, will feature 1080p.

This is great news for consumers, but of course if you have more than one current-gen system. Which do you buy this game for?

Konami Making DDR For Wii!

February 2nd, 2007 . by jb

I have to get this out of the way right this second:  I'm a crazy sucker for DDR.  The game is just fun damnit, step off!

Great!  Now that that is out of the way, here is a clip of the new DDR game that Konami is coming out with.  According to Wired, you are going to not only dance on a pad, but move the Wii Remote in time as well.

While this will definitely make you look more retarded, it is also guaranteed to amazingly awesome.

Video after the  jump.

DS Gets Some Intergalactic Lovin’

February 2nd, 2007 . by jb

Spore ScreenWill Wright's new simulation game Spore is now hopping on the DS!

For those of you who remember, Will Wright had expressed interest in possibly bringing the title to the DS, claiming that he approved of the interface.  It seems like an obvious transition, PC to DS, however graphically there should a massive difference.  The PC title Spore seems to be doing an awful lot in terms of anamorphic polygons, a capability I just don't see the DS handling.

This news came out of an EA quarterly conference call, along with My Sims for the DS and Wii platforms and SimCity for the DS.  EA big-wig, Warren Jenson, sounds off on the Nintendo platforms as if he were playing a game of Starcraft:

“We have shifted and acquired resources and are attacking these successful platforms.”

Talking about your business plan in terms of RTS-speak just makes it so much sexier, doesn't it?
