Quake Wars For PS3, 360

February 13th, 2007 . by Josh

Apparently John Carmack isn't so down on the PS3 as he's letting Quake Wars be released on the console as well. But the whole situation is weird, both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions are being worked on by two different studios.

Z-Axis (see X-Men the Official Game) and Nerve Software (see Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil) are the two companies working on the console versions. Z-Axis is handling the Playstation 3 side and Nerve Software taking the Xbox 360.

Viva DSata

February 13th, 2007 . by joshtest

VivaLooks like we may be getting a new DS game in the near future. Microsofts Corporate Vice President the Game Studios Division, Shane Kim, has basically said, DS + Viva.

Now, I still don't have Viva, and don't have too much of a clue what it's about, besides being similar to harvest moon. But from what I read on it, this seems like an obvious makes sense idea. Portable fudgehogs and uh, stuff.

 From Shane Kims release,

"A Kameo or a Viva Piñata on a DS makes a lot of sense in a lot of ways
from a franchise perspective. I think it’s fair to say that we’re going
to continue to invest in that property. Whether that is in the form of
a sequel, a product line extension or through merchandising, whatever
the case may be, that’s something that we’re going to stick with.
Whether you're talking about [publishing games on] mobile or the DS."

Now while it DOES make sense to make this port to the DS, the part that still confuses me is how well will a Microsoft and Nintendo partnership pan out? I guess we'll see.

Battlestar to Xbox Live Arcade

February 12th, 2007 . by Josh

Geeks and nerds unite! Your favorite sci-fi tv series will be appearing on the Xbox on Live Arcade. Auran Games is developing the game to be a space shooter.

So if you love Battlestar, space shooting or just killing people in the Battlestar universe than this is for you. Though no other details of when it will be released or pricing, you can expect this game to top most other Live Arcade titles sale records.

"We have the likeness rights to talent from the show for video games,"
(NBC's VP Interactive) Kispert said, "but this game will put players in
a first-person perspective, allowing them to experience the world of
the show by piloting Vipers and Cylon Raiders, so there won't really be
room for actors in this game."

Virtua Tennis 3 Online

February 6th, 2007 . by Josh

For those with the Xbox 360 and not the Playstation 3, you'll be pleased to hear the upcoming version of Virtua Tennis 3 will have online play! For those who have a Playstation 3 and not the Xbox 360, you'll be upset to hear, there won't be online play!

And for those with the Wii and not the other two consoles, yeah you obviously know you aren't getting online play.

But nonetheless there will be a variety of online modes such as, doubles, singles and VT: TV where you can watch two of your other friends play (EA take note for Madden). As well all the Xbox 360 users should take note, that the game on the Microsoft made console, will feature 1080p.

Viva Piñata For Girls?

February 5th, 2007 . by Josh

Well so Bill Gates says at least. Little does he know, that game is played by both male or female, and people of all ages. Everyone that has played it loves Viva Piñata. But yet he seems to think it's just for girls.

Ok so, if Viva Piñata is for girls, does that mean Windows Vista is for babies because it's a child's operating system that does everything for you? I think so!

Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts Coming!

February 5th, 2007 . by Josh

And apparently, at least according to the ESRB it will be coming for Virtual Console, Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

This is great news for consumers, but of course if you have more than one current-gen system. Which do you buy this game for?

Thats right, everyone shut up and listen because THQ has to talk! Everyones favorite PC title, Red Faction will be headed over to the next-gen current-gen consoles.

So it seems that THQ intends on bringing the new Red Faction game to the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and of course the PC.

On top of that, it seems the company is also working on several other sequels such as, Juced, Saints Row, Stuntman, MX and Destroy all Humans.
