XBox 360 = DVR…soon!

January 8th, 2007 . by jb

Gates speaks it upAt the CES conference yesterday, Microsoft confirmed that the XBox 360 will be able to be used as a DVR, even while gaming!  Another nifty feature is that you'll be able to chat with friends while watching TV shows.

With this announcement, and the ability to download movies and TV shows, the 360 is really driving the "living room centerpiece" idea home.

Now where's our larger hard-drives to support all this content?!

Free Gears Content

January 8th, 2007 . by Josh

January 11th will mark the day that two new Gears of War maps will be released for free on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The two new maps are called Raven Down and Old Bones.  Heres some details about these new maps:

Raven Down: A Raven Helicopter has gone down in the middle of a large scale battle with the omnipresent Locust Horde. Gears have taken out the Seeder and gamers join Delta Forces moving into the crash site from all angles to search for survivors.

Old Bones: In an attempt to eradicate any traces of human history and culture, the Locust Horde has emerged under Sera's Capitaline Museums and has begun to destroy them brick by brick. Each gamer's mission is to help the Delta Force recapture the museums before all remnants of humankind's existence are obliterated.

Bioshock Release Confirmed

January 6th, 2007 . by Josh

According to 2k games their upcoming shooter titled, Bioshock, will be released for the Xbox 360 and the PC in June.

For the PC this is a welcomed game since, at least to me, PC games have been trash over the last year. The PC is in dire need of some good games to be released, the mod community can only do so much to keep PC gaming ahead of the consoles.

Virtua Fighter 5 To 360?

December 21st, 2006 . by Josh

Apparently it's true, According to Sega will be releasing the famed fighter on Microsoft's Xbox 360 in the late summer of 2007.

People thought VF5 would be a Sony exclusive but it seems that wasn't the case. But honestly, with game development costs as high as they are now, do people STILL think there will be many exclusives? Hell no, won't happen.

December 15th, 2006 . by Josh

There has been a lot of Gears of War news lately. Apparently people like this game, I'm not sure why, but I figure it's because theres actually a good Xbox 360 game.

Today brings us to Gears of War going double platinum (aka selling over 2 million copies worldwide) making it the Xbox 360's quickest selling title all year. Not bad for a game thats only been out since November.
