The Nightly Play: Mario Medley…

February 14th, 2007 . by Josh

Yup, thanks to friend of Playgasm Chris, we bring you this wonderful medley of Super Mario Bros.

Not much to say except how amazing this is! If you don't agree, frankly you don't deserve to play video games.

The Nightly Play: Cooking Mama!

February 12th, 2007 . by jb

So I didn't get a chance to play this game for the DS, but if this video is any indication, cooking is awesome.

And really, this is exactly the type of multiplayer game that I've been craving.  A one on one showdown baby.  Battle of soups!

If this video doesn't get you rock hard for cooking, then you're probably…normal.

I could use some help…  hit the jump for the video of cook-off action!

This Just In: Crap Sells

Next-Gen’s Genre ChartPlease note the graph.  Notice which genre's are selling the most?

Next-Gen compiled a list of the top 100 selling games in North America, but this graph represents those games split up by genre.  Note the massive amount of blueness for the Sports and Licensed games.  That blueness represents a lack of soul in gaming.

It is generally accepted by gamers that sports and licensed titles are the bread and butter of casual gaming, and this chart only further emphasizes this point.

We live in a strange industry, where the people who care the most, represent the minority.

Think You’re A Gamer?

February 11th, 2007 . by Josh

Alright, this isn't exactly gaming news, but it's the weekend, so I'll throw you a curve ball!

If you're bored and want to test your gaming knowledge, then head over to The Ultimate Game Quiz and see how you do against the questions it throws at you.

Personally I got a 98%, not too bad, but of course it's 4:21am. I probably would have done better if I wasn't so damn tired. Good luck!

The Nightly Play: Ryu vs. Scorpion

February 10th, 2007 . by jb

Street Fighter vs. MK?  You know you always wanted to see it.

This video gained a decent amount of popularity amongst some popular media sites, but in case you missed it, here is the awesomely edited fight between Street Fighter front man, Ryu, and MK poster boy, Scorpion.

Who will win?!  FIGHT!

The Nightly Play: DoTA Allstars Endless Story

February 9th, 2007 . by Josh

Since Nick didn't post one, I figure I will because I really enjoy this video. Not much to tell here, it's basically a music video to one of the best downloadable maps for Warcraft 3.

If you're familiar with DoTA Allstars (Defense of the Ancients) than this is nothing new to you, but for those who haven't played it, you better start!

EA Drops Japanese Studio

February 7th, 2007 . by Josh

EA Japan has closed the doors, but atleast Theme Park DS is still being released. It's sad they're gone, especially after making a DS game I am looking forward to.

Of course EA will still continue to release games in Japan, as well as continue to make Nintendo DS titles.
