Well scratch all that, we didn’t know the demo was coming out on Monday anyway! So here’s the new deal, email cstrikepodcast@gmail.com and first come first serve gets a demo code! Ok, we’re officially out of codes but check out the other shows from Platform Nation for a chance to get one from them!

It’s been awhile since this subject last came up, but back in May of 2008 we joined a site formed around other podcasts called Platform Nation. It was about September or so of that year we also left Platform Nation due to some differences in opinion and we both just went our own separate ways.
Two years later and a bit of growing up between both, Critical Strike and Platform Nation have now once again joined forces to fight the evils that is…. something. We’re once again excited to be rejoined with some of our favorite podcasts and people we once worked with and hopefully it’ll be good for all the parties involved.
For those who do not know about Critical Strike, it’s a simple podcast that is recorded every fortnight by Josh and Kyle. We pretty much just discuss the games we’ve been playing and occasionally spice things up with discussions of video game music or retro game challenges between each other which serves as a nice way to introduce someone to a game they’ve never played.

As most of you know I spent this past weekend in northern New Hampshire at the worlds largest arcade Funspot. Nothing can describe how great this place can be if you have deep appreciation for older games.
I brought my new camcorder with me but sadly I forgot the larger memory stick for it thus leaving me with only 2gb of space to record on. It’s not so bad, I was able to record a quick walk through of Funspot’s first floor which is the main attraction there anyway.

Thanks to our good friends over at The Fanboys Lunchcast (whom you should be listening to by the way), we have a new set of forums over at their fine community of old time friends.
Please head over there and join in the discussions, meet the fine folks and hopefully hook up and play some games with them.
Also we have a official Critical Strike Twitter account, Kyle and I both have the info though for the most part it’s mainly just been the site updating it, but if you want to follow we’ll start to communicate through it as well.

It’s pretty well known that in these parts of the great vast interweb we love our good friends The Megas and Entertainment System. After meeting both bands last year during their Megatainment Tour and
hearing afterward that both bands decided to get together and work on a Mega Man 1 EP, you could easily say I was very excited for it.
Well the time has finally come, both bands have finally completed their ends of the EP and it’s available for public consumption! The EP is a four song face melting session of Mega Man goodness that is–in my opinion pretty fair priced at $5 if you so choose to buy it via digital download or a additional $3 for shipping of the cd!
I’d like to see our listeners support these two bands as they’ve given me some awesome tunes to play on Critical Music as well as being part of a growing list of video game based bands!
So if you’d like to hear a song from the album then go to The Megas myspace page or to buy the album head over to The Megas website and show them your support

Of course, it seems to have become a trend that we only do a main podcast episode when Kyle gets injured in his daily life. So after he got rear ended while driving the company truck, we just knew it was finally time to regroup and discuss simple things like video games! Here’s some of the stuff we discussed: Lost Odyssey, Braid, WiiFit, Wolfenstein 3D, Kyle being horrible and not playing Quake, Shadow Warrior, inFAMOUS, Ghostbusters, Tiger Woods 10, Bubble Bobble Plus, Bit.Trip Core, Killing Floor, Street Fighter IV, Blazblue, Zenonia, NCAA Football 10.
Music in this episode: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

If you enjoyed the first song we played on episode 33 of the podcast, do yourself a favor and get over to OCRemix.
These fine folks were selected by Capcom to do the official soundtrack for the newely released Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, which of course you can download for free!
Show your support to OCRemix and this album, they did a wonderful job and it’s nice to see a company like Capcom recognize the remix community.

Short Mr Keith yet Kyle remained making it all good! This episode was kind of weird, Kyle and I seemed to go off on little ramble bits and of course at one point it ended up being a commercial for The Megas (go buy their album!) but thats alright by me!
- What we’ve been up to
- Lovely ice cream truck music
- Top 5 games we were hopelessly addicted to
- Why we think video game movies are full of fail
Music in this episode: MegaMan 3 with lyrcs intro, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Super Smash Bros. Melee, The Megas.
Special thanks to mik and the pong world champion “announcer guy” from The Fanboys for the opening clip.

Hey folks, sorry but unfortunately episode 25 is delayed like most things in the game industry. We had some issues such as power outages, a wedding etc, but we’ll have a new release after this weekend.
Hang tight and check out some of our other favorite podcasts listed on the site.
