Collegehumor was running some Street Fighter videos about what happens to them when they grow up.  This is that, only with DD.

Note the goodness.

Picard Does FFXII Ads For PAL

February 15th, 2007 . by jb

PICARDI don't come up with the excuses to post these pictures, they just come to me…

For the upcoming release of FFXII in PAL territories, Patrick Stewart has been selected to do the voice overs for the commercials.

In addition to Mr. Picard's voice, the people of London get a midnight launch event with the executive producer and director of the game.  The event will hand out such goodies as Moogles and soundtracks to the first 100 purchasers, and a contest for best FF-related costume.

Of course, the important part to note about this entire article is the fact that Mr. Picard was involved, and that my friend, is great news.

Everybody Useless Channel!

February 15th, 2007 . by David Cochran

UselessWiiLooks like we received a new Wii channel last night.

The "Effin Useless" channel, err, the Everybody Votes channel.

This new channel will ask users random hot political questions where you must respond to, such as "Is this the most useless thing ever?" My vote is yes.

If you have a Wii, I'm sure you know about this channel already, since per usual, you were notified by the typical blue glow. If you don't have a Wii, well, don't get one  just for this useless piece of crap.

Hey Nintendo, I have two useful questions you should post.

"Should we drop this shitty MySpace survey channel?" and

"Should we ever make this console online-enabled?"

To both I think the answer will be a resounding "no".

Useless Nintendo

Yup, thanks to friend of Playgasm Chris, we bring you this wonderful medley of Super Mario Bros.

Not much to say except how amazing this is! If you don't agree, frankly you don't deserve to play video games.

Wii News > BBC World

February 13th, 2007 . by jb

Utterly rediculous...Notice the picture presented before you…what do you see?

I see the Wii News Channel being shown in the background of a publicly broadcasted, highly trusted foreign news station.  The BBC World, for whatever reason, had the Wii News Channel being shown behind one of their corespondents.

Was she using it to gather her information?  Were they paid off to show it?

It seems like the Wii News Channel is a great place to get your AP news.  The entire experience of navigating through stories is painless and fast.  Very easily mainstream.

When this Wii penetrates, it penetrates HARD!

Pop on over to the source to check out the full-size picture.

Quake Wars For PS3, 360

February 13th, 2007 . by Josh

Apparently John Carmack isn't so down on the PS3 as he's letting Quake Wars be released on the console as well. But the whole situation is weird, both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions are being worked on by two different studios.

Z-Axis (see X-Men the Official Game) and Nerve Software (see Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil) are the two companies working on the console versions. Z-Axis is handling the Playstation 3 side and Nerve Software taking the Xbox 360.

Viva DSata

February 13th, 2007 . by David Cochran

VivaLooks like we may be getting a new DS game in the near future. Microsofts Corporate Vice President the Game Studios Division, Shane Kim, has basically said, DS + Viva.

Now, I still don't have Viva, and don't have too much of a clue what it's about, besides being similar to harvest moon. But from what I read on it, this seems like an obvious makes sense idea. Portable fudgehogs and uh, stuff.

 From Shane Kims release,

"A Kameo or a Viva Piñata on a DS makes a lot of sense in a lot of ways
from a franchise perspective. I think it’s fair to say that we’re going
to continue to invest in that property. Whether that is in the form of
a sequel, a product line extension or through merchandising, whatever
the case may be, that’s something that we’re going to stick with.
Whether you're talking about [publishing games on] mobile or the DS."

Now while it DOES make sense to make this port to the DS, the part that still confuses me is how well will a Microsoft and Nintendo partnership pan out? I guess we'll see.

The Nightly Play: Cooking Mama!

February 12th, 2007 . by jb

So I didn't get a chance to play this game for the DS, but if this video is any indication, cooking is awesome.

And really, this is exactly the type of multiplayer game that I've been craving.  A one on one showdown baby.  Battle of soups!

If this video doesn't get you rock hard for cooking, then you're probably…normal.

I could use some help…  hit the jump for the video of cook-off action!
