Unreal Tournament 3, Still On!

January 31st, 2007 . by Josh

Oh it's on! Midway seems to have made a tiny mistake on a fact sheet which in turn, caused everyone to believe the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game were coming soon. But what about the Playstation 3 version you ask? Well through Midways confusion people thought the game was delayed until 2008, it's not.

Now that the confusion is all cleared up, all three platforms will be getting Unreal Tournament 3 in 2007, no delay for the Playstation 3 or any other console, at least no yet. One thing most people forgot, it's Epic who makes Unreal Tournament, they'll decide when it will come out.

Tokyo gets smashT

January 31st, 2007 . by David Cochran

TokGodzillaOH NOS, ITS GODZILLA

Yes, you heard right. Godzilla is back.

Atari and Pipeworks have come together to release Godzilla: Unleashed.

This team is the one responsible for Rampage: Total Destruction and Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, so they get some credit.

Rick Mehler, Director of Marketing at Atari, has this to say about this new Wii title

Players will claw, kick, stomp, throw and blast their way through the
streets of major world cities in order to claim the ultimate, beastly
title: King of the Monsters… in Godzilla: Unleashed for the Wii,
players will tap into their inner monster powers when using the
system's wireless, motion-sensing controller.

Sweet deal, especially since Rampage has always been a dirty loving secret in everybodies lives. Either you love to eat chicken legs from broken windows, or random white blocks that are supposed to be obvious virgins.

Oh, and Tokyo is getting pwnt.

3.10 goes LoL

January 31st, 2007 . by David Cochran

SmashWell, as of two days ago, Sony had released the new firmware for their loving PSP. This version, 3.10, has various upgrades such as… uh, better playstation store GUI. And uh.. yeah, thats about it.

Now, the impressive note, is that within 24 hours, the usual homebrew community has already decrypted the firmware.

So what does this mean for people who don't keep up with the PSP developments? Well, for one, unsigned code in the form of other peoples applications for the PSP. From IR remotes, to VNC ports, just about everything you could want a handheld computer to do, someone has done.

Of course, the PSP can also play UMD games via ISO through a replacement firmware developed by Dark Alex. His Open Edition "OE" firmware allows you full rights and access to the latest firmware, without signed restrictions.

Booting ISOs without extra programs? Check

Playing PSOne games (through use of his own popstation program)? Check

Location Free? Check

Full Homebrew capability? Check

Sex with midgets? Triple Check

Why Sony continues to release weekly firmware, with no actual upgrades, for the full purpose of breaking the pirate…. er homebrew community, I don't know. You'd think that since version 1.5 of their firmware, they'd have given up, as every firmware exceeding that has been decrypted quite quickly.

Jessica Chobot Shares Her Mind

January 31st, 2007 . by jb

The Classic ChobotUsually, people turn to IGN's Jessica Chobot for her light-hearted take on the gaming industry (she dresses up as a japanese school girl in the latest IGN Weekly).  And the fact that she licks PSPs.

Her latest blog post, however, really echoes something I've been saying for quite sometime now:  gamers are angry people.

She makes a lot of great points about how the industry is really divided between consumer and the corporations.

Definitely worth checking out the article, and if nothing else, I just showed you a hot girl getting heavy with a gaming device.

Hit the source to get her post.

SIXAXIS Gets It’s Rumble On

January 31st, 2007 . by jb

Playmote + NunchuckSplitFish GameWare has created a new force feedback system that applies it's rumbling to the PS3 SIXAXIS controller.

The funniest part about this news is that the SplitFish is claiming that it's feedback "uses no moving parts to produce meaningful sensory feedback".  No moving parts, eh?  Is it some kind of wave emitter that's going to give you hand cancer or something?  How do you feel vibration if there is nothing moving?!

What's cool is that the device is able to be sold as an add-on or built directly into the SIXAXIS during production (if Sony would ever oblige).

With the PS3 not turning profits right now: I can't see Sony forking over more money to include a feature.  Force Feedback isn't going to make or break the system.

Pictured is one of their other devices for the PS2.  Wii Nunchuck + DualShock = Ugly.

Poor, Poor Xbox Dreamers

January 31st, 2007 . by Josh

It's a sad day for any Xbox 360 user who dreamed, dreamed of having Devil May Cry 4 on their console. Apparently Capcom has come out of the closet.

They once more shattered a rumor in its infant stage denying that they plan on releasing the upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive on the Xbox 360.

But don't worry people, soon it will be February, and you all can come up with more rumors to spread about Capcom. Maybe bring back some favorite classics, like Microsoft buying them!
