Konami will be offering older titles such as Castlevania and Contra for mobile phones through the use of a emulator. This apparently dubbed the Konami Mobile Portal is attempting to be a easy and efficient process.
"Our customers appreciate being able to browse and sample the wide variety of products," said Joe Morris, vice president of mobile content for Konami.
"Once they do decide to buy, the speed of our store is unparalleled, with most customers receiving the content an average of 90 seconds after choosing it."
"Additionally the Konami Mobile Portal allows us to develop an ongoing relationship with our customers. We're committed to developing new ways of making the mobile experience easier and more enjoyable, and other companies are finding ways to use our technologies for a variety of applications beyond gaming,"
I'm not a big fan of mobile games, but classic NES mobile games? Well, they got me there I suppose.

Nintendo has sent out a letter for all those who are using WiiConnect24 to inform everyone that the weather and forecasting features are now available through a system update.
Now you can all check the weather on your video game console, not sure why you would want to, but you can.

In his most recent public outing, Jack Thompson decided to (again) target Rockstar Games' GTA series. He goes into detail about how you can stomp on dead people until they bleed a pool of blood that gets left on the streets.
He also goes on as to say:
"I'm out to shut down Rockstar because they're run by a bunch of sociopaths and they're a one company crime wave."
This is all lame to me, as the video game clearly says on it (and I'm paraphrasing here): "Rated M for Mature, contains hooker beating and cop killing. Please be advised." The only people playing the game are people that are old enough to buy it, or the kids of dumb parents. Where is the problem? By saying that Rockstar can't put out excessively violent games, Jack is implying that the ESRB is a complete failure and these games go flying off the shelves to little kids. This goes fairly contrary to recent surveys.
I've seen non-legal minors buy liquor with less hassle then kids get at local game stores. True story.
In the end, Jack is just a hypocrite. He's been beating a dead horse for quite some time now. Punching dead animals ranks a lot higher up on the quackometer then shooting people, I'm almost positive. People get shot all the time, but when was the last time you heard about someone going to jail for assaulting dead horses?
Let Mr. Ed rest in peace…

Once more Nintendo graces us with older games, we don't really want to play, but at least they're adding content consistently.
- Tennis – NES
- Military Madness – TG16
- Space Harrier – GEN
What I want to ask is, where is the fourth game? Nintendo has always released four a week. Is there some secret game coming mid week?

Well for all of our (zero) readers from Europe, you get the chance to register your Playstation 3 user names in advance. Which is a very good thing indeed, as you won't be getting the console for a long, long time, and rumored to be even longer (sorry my gamer brethren).

There has been a lot of Gears of War news lately. Apparently people like this game, I'm not sure why, but I figure it's because theres actually a good Xbox 360 game.
Today brings us to Gears of War going double platinum (aka selling over 2 million copies worldwide) making it the Xbox 360's quickest selling title all year. Not bad for a game thats only been out since November.

Reports to 1up.com are now saying that SNK Playmore’s compilation title Metal Slug Anthology has finally shipped and in some cases stocked in stores.
Now everyone has to go out and buy a copy so I can be told how good SNK ported the games over to the Nintendo Wii, go go!

Generally the words free and Xbox Live don’t mix all that well. But according to Epic they’ll be releasing ‘something’ as free Gears of War content.
Although unspecified, anything that comes free on the Xbox should be greeted by a hug and kiss. Maybe in the long run other companies will take note how Epic is releasing something for free.
